Three things on your phone store that are costing you sales

I went through the store the way a shopper from your Meta ads would. iPhone 13 size, the homepage, the Bestsellers collection, the Golden Hour Recovery Cream page (first in your Bestsellers collection) and the bag. These are the three biggest leaks I found, with the exact fix for each.

FIX 1

On the best seller page, the first screen has nothing to buy

In short: price, reviews and the buy button all sit below the first screen.

Golden Hour page on iPhone, first screen versus after one scrollLeft, what a shopper sees on arrival (390 x 664 screen). Right, after one scroll.

What I measured

  • Header and announcement bar take 159 px of a 664 px screen.
  • The product title starts at 671 px and the 7,631 reviews at 742 px, both below the screen.
  • ADD TO BAG is at about 1,270 px, two screens down. The sticky bar has no price.

Why it costs sales

Your 7,631 reviews are the strongest thing on the page and nobody sees them on arrival. A shopper from an Instagram ad gives the first screen a couple of seconds. Right now it shows a jar and no reason to stay.

The fix

  • Shorten the gallery and swap the thumbnails for dots. That returns about 80 px.
  • Put title, stars and price right under the gallery, inside the first 664 px.
  • Show the sticky bar from page load, with the price.

This is a change to the product section of your custom theme. No rebuild.

FIX 2

A chat popup opens right on top of the buy button

In short: a chat popup covers Add to Bag when shoppers reach the buy box.

Gorgias chat campaign covering the Add to Bag buttonScrolled to the buy box on the Golden Hour page. The popup covers the button and the shipping line.

What I saw

  • A Gorgias campaign (Head-to-Toe Hydration Bundle) opened in the buy box in both runs.
  • It covers ADD TO BAG and the shipping line, about a third of the phone screen.
  • The chat launcher also sits over the thumbnails on the first screen.

Why it costs sales

The shopper has to find the small X before they can buy. Some will not bother. And the message is a bundle offer, which is a fine idea, just not in that spot.

The fix

  • In Gorgias, skip product pages for that campaign, or fire it only after Add to Bag.
  • Show the bundle as a card under the buy button instead.
  • Lift the launcher above the sticky ADD bar.
FIX 3

The page is blank for seconds, then slow to respond. 90+ third-party hosts are why

In short: dozens of apps and ad tags slow the page before shoppers can buy.

  • Gorgias (28 requests), Rebuy (about 28), Okendo, Klaviyo, Recharge, Videowise, Postscript, plus ad tags for Meta, TikTok, Pinterest and more.
  • The main image is served at 1,500 px wide to a 390 px screen.

Why it costs sales

Your paid traffic arrives on a phone, on whatever connection it has. The slower the product appears and the longer taps lag, the more of that ad spend bounces before the page is usable.

The fix

  • Audit every app and tag, remove what doesn't earn its keep, and clean leftover code from the theme.
  • Load chat, upsell and video widgets on first tap or when the page is idle.
  • Move ad pixels to Shopify Customer Events or server-side tagging, and serve the first image at about 800 px.
